Does Nick Cannon make a convincing white person? And, wait a minute… but isn’t this racist?

Nick Cannon, the affable, henpecked wife of Mariah Carey, has dressed up as a white man to promote his new album White People Party Music. Could a white man, say Justin Timberlake, do the same in black-face?

The answer, of course, is a hell-no and the same goes for Cannon, whose shtick is no less racist. What’s with him?

Cannon, who should know better, posted a photo and video on Instagram today (Mar. 24), wearing body makeup, white-face and a wig. Calling himself “Connor Smallnut,” he talked in an exaggerated Valley-speak.

Cannon conducts an interview and while it may be staged, the person doesn’t seem to have a clue who he is.

So far, it all seems to be a big joke, judging by reaction on Twitter: Asked by a fan what it “feels to be white,” he tweeted: “Great, I’m no longer afraid of the Police!! LOL.”

Someone at Vanity Fair called the stunt cringe-worthy, but Cannon, shrugged it off.

“Don’t get your fancy panties in a bunch!” he Tweeted.

“It’s funny how people take themselves so seriously. People love drama! We feed off of it. Just relax and have fun!!”

Easy for him to say, especially how Miley Cyrus was scolded for “cultural appropriation” by African-Americans just for twerking.

Cannon noted that Robert Downey Jr. wore black-face in the movie “Tropic Thunder” and called him his “favorite character.”

Does that make it right?

The album will be released April 1. Let us know your thoughts and follow TheImproper on Twitter for the latest celebrity news.
