Kim Kardashian and fiance Kanye West grace the cover of Vogue’s April issue, a feat many thought would never happen.

Kim Kardashian wanted a Vogue cover; it was her dream. But the Vogue cover she got wasn’t hers. It was Anna Wintour’s. Kim was merely a prop, and she HATED the result, according to a startling new report.

Vogue released the cover last week and touched off a torrent of criticism on social media. But Kim was said to have loved it.

“This is such a dream come true!!! Thank you @VogueMagazine for this cover! O M GGGGGG!!! I can’t even breath!” she tweeted.

But behind the scenes, it was a different story.

Kim hated the cover. She felt it made her look fat and frumpy. She bristled at the clothes she had to wear and was reduced to tears when it came out, according to Australian Web site, CelebrityFix.

The site claimed to have a source deep inside Kim’s camp. And that’s the problem.

The story is based on nothing more than an anonymous “source,” which is always suspect. Still, the report has a ring of truth for those who know Kardashian and Wintour.

In the end, it came down to who wanted the cover the most, Kim, or Anna? It turned out to be Kim.

Wintour must have sensed that she might face a backlash and was determined to prevent Kim and baby daddy Kanye West from turning the photo shoot into a display of Kim’s hooker fashion style.

Kim reportedly ceded all creative control to the magazine in an iron-clad contract. Vogue stylists were allowed to choose all of the clothes, makeup and locations.

The magazine reportedly even forced Kim to rinse the blonde tricks out of her hair and go back to her natural brunette color. The change was reportedly on Wintour’s direct orders to make Kim as classy looking as possible.

Both Kim and Kanye reportedly bristled at the deal because they see themselves as arbiters of style and taste.

Kanye reportedly objected to the deal, but Kim insisted on going forward. Even momager Kris Jenner was cut out of the negotiations to avoid complications.

Wintour also reportedly insisted that baby North West be part of the shoot, even though Kanye objected to that, too.

“He has already made his feelings clear about keeping North out of the spotlight and won’t let her be on the family’s reality show. But he was forced to give in on this occasion or risk losing their dream shoot,” the source said.

Despite the contract, Kim and Kanye tried to offer photo and clothes suggestions. Kanye really wanted a shot of them embracing in zero gravity, as if they were in a spaceship.

Wintour reportedly nixed them all.

“As soon as the cover was released, Kim was sobbing to family and friends about how much she hated the Lavin dress she was ‘forced’ to wear, saying it made her look ‘twice the size’ and how she felt fat and frumpy,” the source claimed.

“She revealed how she was in floods of tears shortly after the shoot and loathed everything they put her in,” the source added.

“She said nothing flattered the figure she’d worked so hard for since the birth of North and cried at how unsexy she looked.

“She hated the way her make-up was done and wanted a ‘statement lip’ with a beautiful bold color, which was, again, rejected.”

While Kim put on a happy face and Tweeted her joy at being on the cover, she reportedly “cringes whenever she looks at it.”
