Bryan Cranston Irks Conservatives Over ObamaCare Support (watch!) 1

Bryan Cranston has riled conservatives because of his support for ObamaCare. He’s pictured here at U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer’s news conference yesterday (Apr. 7) to announce his campaign to give Broadway and live theater a major tax break. (Photo by Monica Schipper/Getty Images)

Bryan Cranston may play a bad ass on his hit show “Breaking Bad,” but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad ass in real life. But the simple fact was lost on “The Five” folks at Fox News yesterday (Apr. 7), who lambasted the actor for supporting ObamaCare.

Somewhere along the line, Fox “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld got his wires crossed between Cranston’s character and Cranston himself.

He couldn’t understand how Cranston could play a role like Walter White, a cancer-stricken high school chemistry teacher who becomes a major drug kingpin, and also support the president’s Affordable Care Act.

And the connection is? Well, here’s how he sees it.

“How weird is it that a guy who plays a dark, brooding anti-hero is really a puppet to the man. I mean, he just propagandized for President Obama,” Gutfeld said.

He was referring to Cranston’s interview with Katie Couric, during which he called the health care program “fantastic.”

“This is his legacy and I think it’s a great one. Because I don’t think basic health care should be a privilege of the rich,” he said. “It should be a right to all.”

Ironically, White turned to the drug trade because he knew his cancer treatment would exhaust his savings and leave nothing for his family after he died.
