Upton’s luscious mounds are a monument to full-figured women and a beacon in the battle over too-thin models and anorexia-loving Web sites.
In the battle over body image, some have criticized her beauty as “too blonde and too obvious,” while others say she looks “sloppy.”
Kate Upton Stunning Sexuality in Vogue
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Director Sophia Neophitou caused a global uproar when she compared her to a “footballer’s wife,” with “too-blond hair and the kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”
But to hear that Kate dissed her own boobs was almost too much to bear.
“I wish I had smaller boobs every day of my life as I would love to wear spaghetti tops braless or go for the smallest bikini design,” she reportedly told London’s tabloid Sun newspaper.
The comment pinged around the blogosphere like a shot. But like so much tabloid fodder, her desire for smaller boobs proved to be greatly exaggerated.
Upton, 21, took to Twitter yesterday (Apr. 16) to set the record straight.
“Unfortunately, what was said about my body is completely made up to try and drum up controversy where there is none,” she wrote.
“Like every woman, I have moments of insecurity, but I love and am proud of my body — every part of it – and wouldn’t change a thing,” she added.
Kate is touring Australia with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, promoting their new movie “The Other Woman.” She followed up in an interview with Australian radio station 2DayFM.
“I actually didn’t ever say that,” she told station hosts Dan and Maz. “Isn’t that lovely whenever the media makes up something?” she said.
“It’s like, ‘It’s my body, I’ll tell you how I feel about it,'” she added.
There, now we can go back to discussing the national debt.
