Lana Del Rey sings ‘West Coast’ at the Coachella Music Festival. The video debuts today.

Lana Del Rey sets the town on fire–literally–in her new video for “West Coast,” which may not go over well on the… West Coast. Seems like an area often plagued by wildfires would feel a little off kilter about pyrotechnics.

The 27-year-old singer’s clip features disturbing images of burning palm trees, amid her usual dreamy fare.

Like most of her earlier videos, this one was shot largely in black-and-white until the scenery bursts into flames and looks like it’s going to consume Lana herself, which some of her critics might not find too distressing.

The record is finished and it’s beautiful, she told MTV. “It is absolutely gorgeous, darker then the first, so dark it’s almost un-listenable and wrong. But I love it,” she told MTV News.

Lana premiered “West Coast” at the Coachella Music Festival and followed up with the release of a black-and-white music video that just showed her on the beach with a dude.

The song is the first official single off her upcoming album Ultraviolence. Del Rey is collaborating with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach.

Del Rey seems to be in no rush to produce the album. She was largely idle for most of last year, except for her contribution to “The Great Gatsby” soundtrack. Her song, “Young and Beautiful,” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Song Written For Visual Media.
