The offbeat, satirical movie, directed by David Chronenberg, also stars Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, Sarah Gadon and Evan Bird.
Pattinson plays a limo driver and struggling actor who also fancies himself a screenwriter. He falls in with Agatha Weiss (Wasikowska), the daughter of a popular TV psychologist who has just been released from a mental hospital.
Cusack plays the psychologist, Stafford Weiss, an Moore plays Havana Segrand, a famous but fading actress.
Gadon, who worked with Chronenberg and Pattinson in “Cosmpolis,” plays Clarice Taggart a dead Hollywood movie star, who appears to her daughter like a Greek chorus.
The movie is a social commentary on Hollywood as told through the eyes of two former child-stars.
The film premiered at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival in May, and Moore won the Best Actress Award, although the film itself received mixed reviews.
It was released in France in May and will be screened at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival in September.
