Piers Morgan has proclaimed himself defender of the crown with his constant hectoring of Prince Harry and Duchess Megan. Now, he’s even dragging the Duchess of York into his act.

Morgan, is a loud-mouthed, conservative commentator, but he’s gone beyond politics and sanity with his campaign against the royal couple. It reeks of racism and anti-Americanism.

There was obviously great disappointment in certain circles of the Royal family when Harry chose an American of color–and an actress, no less–for his wife.

The royals have a great penchant for shunning certain royal wives with their cold indifference. Think Diana Spencer and Sarah Furguson, the Duchess of York and ex-wife of Prince Andrew.

Diana’s life ended tragically after her divorce from Prince Charles, and Furguson became a train wreck, after the Palace abandoned her, following her divorce.

Megan was facing the same pressures after she repeatedly bumped up against the Palace’s stuffy protocol. Even the staff tried to bully her.

It began even before they were married when the Palace criticized Megan over a necklace that was allegedly “too attention seeking.” (What about all those gaudy costumes the royals wear?)

Then, there was the alleged drama surrounding Meghan’s choice of tiara for her wedding day, according to a biography of the royal couple by two Palace watchers, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

The decision over which tiara to wear was laid on the queen, but in fact, Angela Kelly, the Queen’s dresser allegedly “deliberately dragged her feet” on giving Megan her choice and and possibly influenced the queen’s decision.

According to the book Meghan flew her own hairdresser in from the United States for a hair and tiara trial, but was blocked from the jewels because “she hadn’t made an appointment.”

According to an excerpt:

‘Angela Kelly said she couldn’t come to London [from Windsor] and Harry went ballistic. He was furious at the treatment of his then fiancee. Such a snub.’ Meghan demanded access to the tiara. She didn’t make an appointment with Angela, but said, “We’re at Buckingham Palace, we want the tiara. Can we have it now please? ‘Angela essentially said, “I’m very sorry, that’s not how it works.” There’s protocol in place over these jewels. They’re kept under very tight lock and key. You can’t turn up and demand to have the tiara just because your hairdresser happens to be in town.”

Harry was reportedly incensed by the decision and had words with the queen’s dresser, which led to a meeting with the queen, who promptly shut him down. Was Megan overstepping her bounds?

Possibly, but it was her wedding day. Being a member of the royal family, she should have been extended the courtesy. Besides who was the queen’s dresser to take a stand on protocol against a family member?

Harry could very likely sensed the pressure that was building and wisely chose to exit the royal family to save his marriage and happiness. And why not?

It was clear he would be eternally relegated to the second row behind Prince William and his family, and tasked with meaningless functions and affairs.

To his credit, he made a clean break with the Palace to make his own way in life. How American of him!

As for Morgan, almost since the day of their marriage, he has been an outspoken critic of Harry and especially Meghan.

His attacks have grown increasingly shrill and ad hominem, even accusing her of lying, after her Oprah Winfrey interview.

The backlash was so strong, Morgan, 58, was hounded out of his job at “Good Morning Britain.” Yet, he persisted in his attacks and took his case–of all places–to Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show.

Morgan claimed to be a victim of a “woke mob” that cost him his co-host job on “Good Morning Britain” (which he quit). He was accused of overt racism after he called Megan a liar during her interview with Winfrey last month.

Now he’s even dragging Furguson into the fray.

“Not all Royal duchesses were as thrilled as Meghan ‘Pinocchio’ Markle to see me leave GMB,” he wrote in Event magazine. He pointed to a text from Furguson.

“People have said how much they miss your morning joy and humour, get back out there!’” she wrote.

And Piers joked the support of the duchess, who is nicknamed Fergie, could be the start of a new professional partnership.

He mused: “Perhaps we should start a new breakfast show together… ‘Morgy and Fergie in the Morning’, anyone?”

Morgan’s revelation about Sarah comes shortly after he claimed “several members of the Royal Family” have sent him messages of “gratitude.”

“I’m not going to go into who it was … but gratitude that somebody was standing up,” he said.

Piers previously dismissed many of Meghan’s comments in her interview, including claims she had made about her mental health.

She said certain people within the royal family had told her there was nothing they could do for her after she said she was considering taking her own life.

And in a recent interview, Piers said he “finds that impossible to believe”, and called for Meghan to publicly name those involved in the conversations, even though he won’t name names himself.

“You’re accusing two people in the palace of being unspeakably cruel simply to protect the brand of the Royal family, if that is true let’s have the names of these people and let’s go to them and ask them is this true.”

“I find that impossible to believe,” he added.

Given the royal family’s past record with Diana and Sarah Furguson, it’s no so hard to believe at all.

What is impossible to believe is why Morgan continuing with his rants–except to puff up his own ego and self-worth.
