Jonas, with the help of two friends, sang a refrain from his hit song, “Jealous,” and played the piano with his feet, just like Hanks.
“I had to pay homage to the man Tom Hanks,” Jonas wrote on Facebook. He also posted a video of his performance.
In the 1988 movie, Hanks plays a 12-year-old boy, Josh, who goes to a carnival. He tries to impress a girl by getting on a ride, but the operator tells him he’s too short.
Dejected, he notices a fortune telling machine, “Zoltar Speaks.” He drops in a coin and wishes he was “big.” The machine ejects a card that states, “Your wish has been granted.” The next day he wakes up and discovers he’s a 30-year-old man.
He gets a menial job at a toy company an bumps into the CEO at FAO Schwarz. They play a duet together of “Heart and Soul” and “Chopsticks,” and the boss is so impressed by Josh’s opinion about toys he promotes him to chief toy tester.
Jonas proved just as adept on the piano.
