Kanye West continued to turn over a new leaf and put his bad-boy antics behind him by settling a lawsuit filed against him for roughing up a photographer in a 2013 incident at Los Angeles International Airport.

West was sued by photographer Daniel Ramos after a scuffle that started when Ramos asked West a question as he walked out of the terminal.

Celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred filed the civil suit on his behalf and announced today (Apr. 7) that the case had been settled.

Significantly, she said West had agreed to apologize to avoid taking the case to court. Allred released a photo of the apology.

“We believe that this case sent an important message. Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question,” she said in a statement.

No monetary settlement was announced.

The stage was set for the incident after West vowed to prevent paparazzi from talking to, or asking questions of, him or anybody in his entourage.

The photographer was being polite and clearly told West he did not want to fight, according to a video of the incident.

Kanye reportedly told the man not to ask questions, and when he refused, he went ballistic.

West threw several punches, and may or may not have connected. The man fell to the floor and Kanye was photographed pinning him to the ground.

Ramos flagged down a police officer to report the incident and paramedics were called to the scene.
