Kim Kardashian claims she’s ‘so proud’ of stepfather Caitlyn Jenner for coming out as a woman on the cover of Vanity Fair June 1, even though Caitlyn’s big reveal completely overshadowed Kim’s pregnancy announcement.
Kardashian tweeted, “Caitlyn Jenner for Vanity Fair! How beautiful! Be happy, be proud, live life YOUR way!”
Despite paying lip service to the worldwide fanfare surrounding Caitlyn’s transition, it’s unclear why Kim decided to announce her pregnancy on the same day that Jenner’s hugely anticipated Vanity Fair reveal was made.
After all, the former Bruce, who said he knew he was transgender since 10, waited 55 years to come out as a woman!
As TheImproper previously reported, Kardashian made a rushed decision to announce her pregnancy at the urging of competitive, catty momager Kris Jenner in what a source described as a desperate bid to blunt stepdad Bruce Jenner’s coming out and prevent him from overshadowing her in the Monday morning news cycle.
Kim was also concerned Bruce/Caitlyn would relegate her to a footnote in his story if she came out before she announced her pregnancy. As it is, that’s exactly what happened.
Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair cover nearly broke the Internet and set Twitter records, outdoing Kim’s nude Paper magazine reveal a few months ago (P.S. – Caitlyn kept her clothes on).
Meanwhile, the former Bruce Jenner said she’s ecstatic to finally be free with her gender identity and live her life as the woman she was meant to be.
Caitlyn understands some people will question whether her sex change transition to a woman was publicity stunt, but she insists she did it to be happy, not for press. “I’m not doing this to be interesting,” said Jenner, 65. “I’m doing this to live.”
