Brown, 22, died July 26 at the Peachtree Christian Hospice Center, where the photo appears to have been taken.
TheImproper broke the story Aug. 3 that The Enquirer would likely print the photos.
Initial reports, published by gossip site TMZ, claimed Bobbi Kristina was photographed in her coffin, just like her mother, who died in Feb. 2012 on the eve of the Grammy Awards.
The Enquirer published Whitney lying in an open coffin at a viewing before her funeral. The publication re-ran the photo in today’s weekly edition, along with Bobbi Kristina’s.
Bobbi Kristina, however, was pictured in a hospital bed. The photo did not show any signs of life support equipment, suggesting it was taken at the hospice and not the hospital
She’d spent almost six months in an intensive care unit on life support after nearly drowning Jan. 31 in a bathtub at her home. Police are investigating the incident as a possible homicide.
The Enquirer called the photo a “blockbuster world exclusive,” although it is drawing widespread criticism for the move.
It claims the photo is the last one taken of Bobbi Kristina just before she died.
“Krissi,” as she was known to family and friends, was buried Monday (Aug. 3) next to her mother in a New Jersey cemetery.
The publication ran photos on its cover last month and gave the impression they were of Bobbi Kristina on life support. But in very small print, the tabloid acknowledge they images were “recreations.”
Whitney Houston also drowned in a bathtub. The identity of her coffin photographer has never been revealed.
In the case of Bobbi Kristina, the Brown and Houston family are pointing fingers at each other.
