Hillary Clinton did her best to look personable and relaxed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night. But she talked at hyper speed and did this strange bobbing and weaving in her chair. She came across like Shecky Green when a little Margaret Thatcher might have helped.

Thatcher earned the nickname “Iron Lady” as leader of Britain’s Conservative Party and Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990.

She was known for her resolute leadership style and stiff demeanor. But a biting wit and disarming humor softened her edges.

Hillary shouldn’t go full-on Thatcher. That would never work here. But should could take a few lessons from her and President Obama about how to be chill while still remaining presidential.

Of course, the rap against Hillary has been she’s too wonky and lacks personality. So she’s obviously out to prove otherwise during the presidential campaign. She has softened her image somewhat. But her back-slapping demeanor still seems too contrived.

Kimmel set the stage for her appearance in his opening monologue. “We’ll be touching on all the important topics the economy, climate change, ISIS, whether Khloe should take Lamar back — everything,” he said.

Hillary overdid the soft questions like who would control the remote if husband Bill Clinton became first spouse. And, whether she could beat Bill in a head-on election.

“We have to really work on what to call him… Would he be called the first man, first mate, first dude?” she said. Really, first dude?

Hillary also met with a pre-teen focus group to talk about the office. She explained why she attended Donald Trump’s wedding and addressed some of the whacky things that GOP candidate Ben Carson has been saying.

As the interview progressed and Hillary moved on to more substantive topics, she finally found her presidential groove. Hopefully, she’ll find some balance and work on dealing with the light stuff without looking like she’s on crack.
