Kristen Stewart’s latest performance won’t hit the big screen, but it’s one of her best yet. She gives her all for Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, who released a teaser today for a short film he’s shooting for his latest Métiers d’Art collection.

Stewart covers a range of emotions for the film, titled “Once and Forever.”

She’s hot tempered with the crew but melts for the character she portrays, Gabrielle Chanel, better known as Coco. Kristen plays her as a young woman. Co-star Geraldine Chaplin plays the designer in her later years, according to the brand.

Essentially, it’s a movie within a movie, according to fashion trade WWD, which broke the story today.

The film will be screened at the Cinecittà, an historic venue in Rome, in studio No. 5, a allusion to Chanel’s famous perfume brand.

The film opens with Kristen wearing a ruffle-neck blouse and turn-of-the-century woolen suit, according to the trade magazine, based on a full screening of the short.

Chanel started her career as a stage performer, earning the nickname she would make famous throughout her career.

Stewart fumes throughout the clip capturing the spirit of the tempestuous Coco.

“You call yourself a producer?” Stewart shouts at the producer. “This is bulls–t!” she says after being asked to do press during production

Lagerfeld said he conceived the film with Stewart in mind because of her great emotional range, according to the magazine.

He had this to say about his young fashion protege.

“She’s so good,” the Lagerfeld told the magazine. “I think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation. She gives the right emotion and the right intensity immediately so it’s very easy to work her, like it’s easy to work with Geraldine. Like on stage you have no second take. You have to be good. There are very few second takes. I like the freshness of the first take.”

Kristen stunned fans and critics alike in 2013, when she was unveiled as the new face for Chanel’s 2013-2014 Métiers d’Arts ad campaign. She signed with Chanel while still reeling from her cheating scandal with “Snow White and the Huntsman” Director Rupert Sanders.

At the time, her career was in doubt, but Lagerfeld instantly turned her into a fashion A-Lister. Stewart’s career rebounded no doubt in part because of his embrace.

The tip off to her growing relationship with Chanel came in July of 2013 when she was spotted in the front row of the brand’s Haute Couture fashion show.

She’s been under Lagerfeld’s watchful eye ever since.
