Chloe Grace Moretz shows a new level of maturity both in photos and comments in the latest issue of Nylon magazine. She takes a stand against so-called celebrity “squads” and looks arresting in a series of new photos. She doesn’t name names, but we do!

It’s hard to believe a Hollywood child actress who is now a very grown up 18-year-old can have her head screwed on straight.

But Chloe’s prescience is remarkable.

She calls out the latest celebrity trend, so-called “squad goals.” The term is another expression for “group think.” That is, people who think and act alike.

Right, say what?

It usually makes the most sense when used at the end of a directional statement, according to urban dictionaries. As in: “We’re hitting the new club on Friday, Squad goal.”

Cloe didn’t single out anyone, but the most obvious is Taylor Swift’s circle of hangers-on. Swift, who also says she was the odd-girl-out in high school, now has a tight circle of high-profile friends that include models and other artists.

The Kardashians make up another squad.

Kim Kardashian, or more likely, momager Kris Jenner calls the shots. Sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner make up the perfect dynamic.

They’re the squad core. Surrounding them are a legion of hangers-on, online fans and others whom they influence.

“Saturday Night Live” alums Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph have been tagged a squad.

Forty-something actresses Cameron Diaz Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston also form a pretty tight clique, according to various reports.

Oddly, the squads are mostly all girls. Is this high school all over again?

But Chloe sees it for what it is, elitist and exclusionary.

“I agree with having a good core group of friends, but the issue I have with squads is it creates exclusivity. I was never included in those things when I was a kid. I was the weird one that chose to do movies, so now I go out of my way to be nice to people and make them feel included.”

Chloe seems to have outgrown the need. She also has a pretty wise take on feminism.

“I think feminism is about strong women being who they want to be and fighting for equality on all accounts,” she says. “It’s not about men being demolished to bring women higher up in the world. I think that’s incredibly misconstrued.”

Chloe who grew up in the public eye as a child actress, has come into her own, evidenced by an arresting photo spread that shows off her alluring sexuality.

In times past, arresting may have had a different meaning. But she checked out of Lolitaville when she turned 18. Now, she’s well on her way to becoming a Hollywood siren.
