British actress Emma Watson, has finally spoken out in an effort to quash Internet rumors that she is trying to steal Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson from his rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart. The pixie-like Watson seems notably perturbed.
The rumors have taken on a life of their own because of the popularity surrounding all three actors, and less reputable gossip Web sites have had a field day playing up the supposed love triangle.
Some reports claim that Stewart is even feuding with Watson over the 6’1″ tousled-haired Rob.
But Watson, who is attending Brown University in the United States finally spoke out and said enough is enough. She called the rumors “absurd.”
First Watson responded through a rep, who said: “There is no feud, nor any hint of one. This is a complete case of mischief making.
Then Emma finally weighed in herself through her Twitter account:
“Just wanted to say don’t believe everything you read. Not mentioning any names… but why spoil a good story with a few facts, hey?!” she Tweeted.
Of course there are just enough “facts” to give the rumor some legs.
Emma previously worked with Rob in 2005’s “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” Although Rob had a relatively minor part playing Cedric Diggory, while Emma, played one of the movie’s central characters, Hermione Granger.
Emma said last June they still remains friends and often talk. That is when he not on the phone with Kristen, according to Watson.
“Oh god! He’s absolutely hot! He’s driving me crazy…But we’re just good friends and can be on the phone for hours, because I know that there’s something going on between him and Kristen Stewart,” she said.
The rumor was further fueled after reports claimed that Watson and Pattinson were set to appear together in a remake of 2004’s “Dark Arc,” an indie film about a heated love triangle.
But subsequent reports claim that Pattinson is not involved with the film. Actor Casey Affleck is reportedly in discussions to play opposite Watson.
Still nothing stops a good rumor, and a Watson-Pattinson hook up would be a pretty juicy story… if only it were true.
