Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will be the center of attention tonight as they engage in their fourth debate for the Democratic presidential nomination. They will be joined by former Baltimore mayor Martin O’Malley, who is running a distant third in the contest. Watch a livestream of the debate here.
Sanders, a U.S. Senator from Vermont, has given the candidate a lot to talk about. He unveiled his plan today for universal health insurance for all Americans.
But he will have to answer for his plan to fund the program. He’s doing it with a series of taxes on business, estates of the wealthy and a 2.2 percent “health care premium.”
He’s also proposing changes in income taxes to make the U.S. tax code more progressive, taxing higher income wage earners more. Clinton call on Sanders to present details of his plan before the debate.
Coverage from South Carolina will be streamed online beginning at 8 p.m. The debate will air live on your local NBC station starting at 9 p.m. ET.
