Depp must be inspired after his riveting portrayal of the sinewy Boston gangster Whitey Bulger in his latest movie “Black Mass.”
He goes into major makeup mode until he’s barely recognizable. Then, he does what he does best, capture the idiosyncrasies and nuances of his character.
The skit is based on a fictional movie, “The Art of the Deal: The Movie,” starring Donald himself. It’s supposedly based on Trump’s best-selling 1988 book by the same name, which helped cement his celebrity status.
The comedy Web site even provides an elaborate back story. Trump, it seems, wrote, directed and starred in the made-for-TV movie. But it was pulled from the air because “Monday Night Football” went into overtime.
In a huff (no surprise), Trump deep-sixed the picture. It remained lost to the public, until Director Ron Howard found a video copy at a yard sale. After strong-arming a woman for the tape, he decided to finally put it on the air.
And, what a coincidence! Trump just happens to be running for president.
Depp appears in the movie trailer with an all-star cast that includes Michaela Watkins as ex-wife Ivanka Trump. “Happy Days” star and Howard pal, Henry Winkler, Patton Oswalt, Alfred Molina, Andy Richter, Jack McBrayer, Jacob Tremblay, Stephen Merchant and Paul Scheer.
Oh, and friendly space alien Alf also has a cameo. Where has he been after all these years!
