Today, the 27-year-old singer is at peace with herself after taking “just the right amount of time off.”
She explained how she changed her life and why she’s looking forward to her Grammy performance on Monday (Feb. 15).
“I like myself more than ever,” she said in Vogue magazine’s March issue. “I feel so comfortable in my own skin. I really like how I look, I like who I am, I like everyone that I surround myself with.”
Part of finding herself included a 50-pound weight loss.
She overhauled her diet, stopped smoking, cut back on alcohol, and started exercising to get in shape for her upcoming world tour, according to Celebrity Health & Fitness.
“I was trying to get some stamina for my tour so I lost a bit of weight,” Adele said. “Now I fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes.”
She has the courage to laugh, in a self-deprecating way, about what she sees as her shortcomings–like her “bum chin” and “sausage fingers.” But now those things don’t hold her back.
“When I became a parent, I felt like I was truly living. I had a purpose, where before I didn’t,” she says of her son Angelo.
She says she faces all the anxieties of being a parent raising the child of a famous person. But it helps her keep her priorities straight. “My main thing is Mum, then it’s me, then it’s work,” she says.
Adele hosted a celebrity infested pre-Grammy concert at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday (Feb. 12) in the first showcase of her new music since third album 25 was released in November.
Spotted in the audience were Jennifer Lawrence, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, John Mayer, Emma Stone, Orlando Bloom, Woody Harrelson and Katy Perry.
