Klum, one of the world’s foremost supermodels has retired from the catwalk, but still intends to have an impact on fashion.
She was signed by Australian lingerie company Bendon two years ago after Aussie supermodel Elle McPherson ended her 25-year relationship with the company.
“I feel like with all the social media that I have, with the campaigns that we do, I hope that people will hear that I took over and I hope that they’re happy about it,” she said at the time.
“It wasn’t me knocking at the door saying I want to take over. It was offered to me,” she added.
Klum was indirectly referring to a 2006 dust up with McPherson over the moniker “The Body,” according to UK Vogue magazine.
Klum used the nickname in a Victoria’s Secret campaign for a new bra. “They call me The Body – and now I have a bra named after me,” Klum said.
Actually, McPherson was nicknamed “The Body” in a 1986 Time magazine article and it stuck. She’s used it on a couple of occasions for a skincare line and a workout video.
Klum wanted to assure everyone the Bendon change was amicable. But there’s no mistaking her signature style.
Photographer Francesco Carrozzini was behind the lens as Klum, 42, stripped down to bra and panties. The frilly styles come in soft pastels and bold primary colors, like midnight black and shocking red.
