It wasn’t the front view that concerned ABC suits; it was the rear. Her shorts were so short ABC censors feared she’d flash a little too much derriere.
It was clear to astute observers that the shirt wasn’t hers. It was twice her size. She put it on before taking the stage. Sources said she was a good sport about the change.
Despite having to bounce around with the shirt tied around her waist, Grande didn’t miss a beat, or show her dissatisfaction. She put on an energetic show that kept fans howling.
Grande performed songs from her new album Dangerous Woman. It was released today to coincide with her performance. The 22-year-old singer also kicked off GMA’s Summer Concert series in Central Park.
She included her title track “Dangerous Woman,” from the album, her third studio set. She released her debut album Yours Truly in 2013 and followed up with her sophomore album My Everything a year later.
“I feel like I’m still just getting started; a lot of people forget I’m only three years in,” she said in a recent Billboard interview. Actually, it’s four years, but who’s counting.
Grande, a diminutive five-feet tall, has a power pop voice that ranges four-octaves all the way up to soprano. As a result, she’s drawn comparisons to Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera.
