Melania Trump is a 21st century Jackie O, according to Donald Trump as the Republican National Convention kicked off.

Melania spoke on Day 1 of the GOP convention, when she discussed her husband’s plans to “Make America Safe Again” if elected president.

Donald, who previously said Melania will be an elegant and compassionate First Lady, plans to promote his beautiful Slovenian-born wife as a modern-day Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

“Melania will be recast as the next Jackie O,” a source told the NY Post. “She speaks four languages.”

Like Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania Trump loves fashion and is a devoted mom and fitness fanatic (Jackie did yoga, while Melania does Pilates).

Melania, who spends most of her time parenting the couple’s 9-year-old son, Barron, has said she would be a “traditional” First Lady (see video).

“I would be very traditional, like Betty Ford or Jackie Kennedy,” said Melania.

That means she will not use the position to further her own political or financial ambitions the way Hillary Clinton did when she was FLOTUS from 1993 to 2001.

Donald said Melania will make an excellent First Lady because she’s worldly, graceful, and speaks four languages (Slovenian, French, English and German).

In contrast, former Secretary of State Hillary speaks one — and with a forked tongue. People who have met Melania say she’s charming and kind.

“Melania would be an amazing representative for our country,” said Donald. “I could see her being very involved in women’s health issues. She’s an elegant person with a very big heart. She’s very calm and confident, very warm and very beautiful.”

Donald and Melania met at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998 and married in 2005. It was her first marriage and his third. Melania gave birth to their son, Barron, in 2006.

Melania was born in Slovenia (the former Yugoslavia) in 1970, studied design at the University of Ljubljana, and was a model during her twenties.

Melania said she’s not worried Donald would ever cheat on her the way Bill Clinton did on Hillary during their 41-year marriage of convenience.

“I don’t worry about [Donald cheating on me] at all,” said Melania. “If a man doesn’t want to be with me, [then goodbye and good luck].”

Unlike Hillary Clinton, Melania Trump doesn’t want to use her husband’s presidency to launch her own political career.

While she has been painted as a fawning gold-digger who does everything her husband tells her to, Melania said she has always been very independent. The 5-foot-11 beauty is a hands-on mom who helps her son with his homework and shuttles him to after-school activities.

Melania sometimes disagrees with Donald’s views, but totally agrees with his stance on illegal immigration. “I went through a whole long process [to become a citizen],” said Trump. “It didn’t even cross my mind to just stay here [illegally]. I think people should follow the law.”
