Jessa Duggar wished her mom and dad, Michelle and Jim Bob, a happy 32nd wedding anniversary on Twitter.
“We love y’all, Mom and Pops!” Jessa tweeted.
Jessa is flying high after TLC renewed her reality show, “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” for a second season despite mediocre ratings.
While rumors had swirled that Jim Bob and Michelle were on the brink of divorce due to disagreements over son Josh Duggar‘s child molestation and cheating scandals, the couple appears to have reconciled.
Perhaps it’s partly due to Michelle’s belief that as a devoted Christian wife, she should be dutiful and submissive toward her husband and not argue with him.
Earlier this year, Michelle raised eyebrows after writing a provocative blog post urging wives to be “joyfully available” for sex whenever their husbands want, even if they’re exhausted, pregnant or not in the mood.
“I’m going to pass on the advice that was given to me by a dear friend Gala,” Michelle wrote on the Duggar family website. “It’s been the best advice that was ever given to me in regard to my relationship to my husband Jim Bob.”
The mom of 19 wrote: “Anyone can iron Jim Bob’s shirt, anybody can make lunch for him. But you are the only one who can meet that special need that he has in his life for intimacy. So don’t forget that, that he needs you.”
Michelle continued: “So when you are exhausted at the end of the day, maybe from dealing with little ones, and you fall into bed so exhausted at night, don’t forget about him because you and he are the only ones who can have that time together.”
And so be available, and not just available, but be joyfully available for him. Smile and be willing to say, ‘Yes, sweetie I am here for you,’ no matter what, even though you may be exhausted and big pregnant and you may not feel like he feels.”
Not surprisingly, Duggar’s self-sacrificing marriage advice received an avalanche of negative feedback from most women/wives.
One woman wrote: “Hey lady, why don’t you worry about your family’s own problems? I don’t think I need advice from a person who raised a pedophile.”
A disgusted critic fumed:
“How loose is her vagina after stretching out for 19 kids AND having sex with a smile whenever her ugly husband wants it? I think the loose vag dislodged her pea brain.”
Earlier this year, Jessa and Jill revealed they had been molested as children by their brother Josh. The child molestation scandal caused TLC to cancel the family’s hit TV show, 19 Kids and Counting, in July 2015 amid massive public outcry.
The Duggar family has reportedly lost income totaling $25 million a year as a result of lost book deals, endorsement and speaking engagements after their TV show’s cancellation.
Josh’s parents were slammed after news surfaced that Josh had sexually fondled six underage girls (including sisters Jessa and Jill) when he was 14 years old, as TheImproper has reported. According to a police report, Josh fondled the girls’ breasts and genitals, in some cases when they were asleep.
Jim Bob Duggar told authorities Josh had apologized to his victims and they had “forgiven” him. Jim Bob has come under fire for waiting more than a year after Josh confessed to being a child molester before contacting the police, who received criminal complaints about Josh’s molestation from his other victims in 2006.
