[/caption]Rihanna shows what would happen if Mad Max turned the Thunderdome into a high-fashion runway. In the latest issue of W magazine, the singer is a total sex goddess ruling a dystopian world of snarling dogs, tattooed men and roaring oil well fires.

Rihanna covers the Sept. 2016 issue. It labels her “The Baddest Bitch of the Apocalypse.”

“I was obsessed with these pictures of military men running around with dogs on their backs, and I was like ‘Oh, that’s a statement about today,’” said W Creative Director Edward Enninful.

A village of photographers, stylists, and set designers were enlisted to give her a post-apocalyptic, tribal look.

Photographer Steven Klein and a host of designers and stylists were part of the effort.

Yusef for Leonor Greyl Hair Care at Factory Downtown styled Rihanna’s hair.

Amy Farid for Bumble and Bumble at Kate Ryan Inc. styled the men; Pat McGrath Labs handled their makeup and tattoos.

Stefan Beckman at Exposure NY. Models, Deion Smith at Red model management, Chucky (aka Byron), Hirakish and Sunny ginned up the set design.

But Rihanna was clearly the center of attention.

Said Enninful in a statement:

“The thing about Rihanna is that she never wants to repeat something she’s done, and she did a video where she wore lots of camouflage. So I knew I didn’t want to do a military story. Instead, I wanted to do something that was set in the future world. We thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to take this concept and apply it to the last woman on earth, the last warrior on earth, really.”

She even showed off some of her own jewelry line along with pieces by Cartier.

For the various photos, the Barbadian singer wore Gareth Pugh, Bordelle linerie, Mugler Archive, Mano Blahnik boots, Maison Margiela Haute Couture created by John Galliano, Craig Green trousers, Prada and a host of other designers.

But in the end, the designs are all her.

Enninful said:

“With Rihanna, it’s always a collaboration and that’s why I love her so much. So I’ll send her ideas, she’ll bounce them back. It’s not me going, ‘Here you go, Ri.’ It’s 100 percent collaboration. I’ll send her one of the sketches and she’ll say ‘Oh I love it,’ or ‘I wish it was shorter.’”

Her exotic look vaulted her into the top ranks of fashion brands. She has since expanded with her own clothing, sportswear and perfume lines.

She repped her first fashion line for Armani in 2011. Who can forget those photos!

But she’s infinitely hotter this time around.
