When the latest “Star Wars” movie hits the big screen, an alien invasion will be underway… in toy stores around the world. Disney today (Aug. 31) provided a sneak peek at new action figures, featuring among others, rebel leader Jyn Ers, played by Felicity Jones.

Jones’ action figure and other toys were revealed in a series of YouTube videos put together by what the movie studio calls “superfans.”

The movie co-stars Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed.

Expect the detailed action figures to sell for super prices.

Under the direction of creative network Tongal, a team wrote, directed and produced the fan-made stop-motion shorts, starring key toys from the new line. The effort will kick off a global contest for fans to share their own “Rogue Stories.”

“These fan-created shorts are a tribute to the incredible content that the Star Wars community posts online every day,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media, in a prepared statement.

“The Go Rogue campaign was designed with Star Wars fans in mind; we want them to be front and center in the run up to ‘Rogue One’ by imagining and creating their own Rogue Stories,” he said.

Fans, of course, can pre-order a handful of select items seen in the “Rogue Stories” beginning Friday (Sept. 2) at mass retailers, Disney Store locations and online at disneystore.com.

The full range of new “Rogue One” and Star Wars products will be available globally starting Sept. 30.

Disney also blasted off with a slew of new toys when its latest chapter movie, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hit theaters in January of this year.

But a social media uproar ensued when an action-figure of Rey, a strong female character and positive role model for young girls, was largely AWOL from toy stores.

#WheresRey started trending on Twitter as soon as “Star Wars” toys went on sale before Christmas.

Disney seems to have learned its lesson this time around. The Jyn Ers action figure is prominently featured.

The global contest kicks off Sept. 30; fans can share their own short stories or skits. Winning entries from around the globe will be chosen by a panel including “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards.

Teen and adult fans can enter the Go Rogue contest on StarWars.com/GoRogue. The site isn’t active yet. Kids 8-12 can participate on Disney.com/MyRogueStory.

Winners will be invited to Disney subsidiary Lucasfilm in San Francisco to attend a screening of “Rogue One,” and see their short story on the big screen, Disney said.
