“[The DNC hack was] probably an inside job,” Stone told CNN (see video).

Stone also called the narrative being pushed by Hillary Clinton that Russian hackers are behind the DNC leaks a boldfaced lie.

“I think it’s a great fiction,” said Stone. “It serves a purpose to disguise what’s really going on. The intelligence experts I’ve talked to have indicated to me that it’s an inside job.”

Oliver Stone, who was promoting his new movie “Snowden,” said his extensive research suggests the source of the DNC hack was most likely “Democrats or someone who has worked at the committee.”

Stone did not specify who he thought was the source of the DNC leak, but Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and many on social media believe the source was likely Seth Rich.

Rich, a computer-voting specialist at the DNC, was shot and killed at 4 a.m. on July 10 in Washington, D.C.

Seth, who was 27 years old, died shortly afterward of the gunshot wound.

Police found Rich was not the victim of an attempted robbery, as his wallet, credit cards, watch, and cellphone were still on him when his dead body was discovered.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange suggested in multiple TV interviews that Seth Rich was the source for the Wikileaks-exposed DNC e-mails and was murdered for his actions.

“Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks,” Assange told Dutch TV program Nieuwsuur.

“A 27-year-old who works for the DNC, [Rich] was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington.”

According to unconfirmed reports, Seth Rich was about to speak to the FBI about an ongoing case involving the Clinton family when he was gunned down.

Meanwhile, Oliver Stone hopes President Barack Obama will pardon former CIA employee Edward Snowden for his 2013 NSA leak before he leaves office.

Snowden currently lives in Moscow and is not allowed to return to the U.S.

Stone said Snowden should be pardoned because he did a great service to the American people by revealing how the government is invading our privacy with its unrestricted surveillance after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by radical Islamists.

In 2013, Oliver Stone who had endorsed Obama in 2008 slammed Obama as a “snake” who lied to the American people.

“Obama is a snake,” Stone told reporters in Japan (see video, starting 1:17). “He’s a snake, and we have to turn on him.”

Stone said Obama enabled the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing by Muslim brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev because authorities were told to surveille American citizens instead of terrorists.

“At the Boston Marathon, they were so busy tracking down potential protestors that they missed the bombers,” said Stone. “It’s never about terrorists [with Obama].”

In a 2012 interview, Oliver Stone called Obama “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” who has violated citizens’ privacy more than any president before him.

“Under the disguise of sheep’s clothing he has been a wolf,” said Stone. “So we are going into the second administration that is living outside the law and does not respect the law. Without the law, it is the law of the jungle.”
