Kim Kardashian’s reality television career has always depended on her ability to flaunt her success on social media–the very thing that set the stage for her Paris robbery and exposes her to future assaults. But there’s no way she can give it up. It’s become her prison.

Paris police now have dispelled all theories that the robbery was anything but the work of a dangerous gang of thieves.

They apparently tracked Kim through her self-publicized movements on social media, noting the expensive jewelry she was flaunting in front of her fans. Using that information, they staged their daring heist.

So far, they’ve gotten away cleanly with millions of dollars in jewelry.

Unfortunately for her, nothing succeeds like success. If the thieves aren’t caught, the robbery is sure to spawn copycat attempts targeting Kim and others, including family members, who flaunt their wealth on social media.

Most celebrities can dial back their exposure to thwart robberies, if they choose, but not Kim. No other celebrity receives depends on constant media coverage more than her.

Her reality show empire feeds off the exposure and would quickly fade without it. Remember Paris Hilton?

But each day the 36-year-old puts herself out there, she knows now she is exposing herself and her family to potential trouble.

No wonder she been much more low key since the robbery. But that can only go on for so long.

Not surprisingly, Kim has gone back to filming her reality television show. But is her heart really still in it?

She was spotted last night (Oct. 26) taping a segment at husband Kanye West’s Los Angeles concert with sister Kourtney Kardashian.

Kim was unusually dressed down, and surrounded by at least 12 armed guards, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Kim was also absent from Snapchat photos of the event posted by Kourtney.

Likewise, Kim was barely recognizable when paparazzi spotted her Monday (Oct. 24). She was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, little make-up and no jewelry on an outing with a friend to get frozen yogurt.

Her confidence and uninhibited flaunting–of her body and her wealth–in public were the hallmarks of her reality lifestyle. Without those, what does she have?
