Bethenny Frankel Is Lying About Skating Expertise, Says Mom 2Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel, who’s competing in Skating With The Stars, is at the ice rink by 6 a.m. every day to train for the grueling reality competition.

But while Bethenny, 40, has insisted she has little skating experience, her estranged mom, Bernadette Parisella Burke (also spelled Birk), says Frankel is lying like a rug.

“She is going to be a dead ringer out there because she’s had so many private ice skating and roller skating lessons [as a child],” Burke, 69, tells Radar. “She did it all the time when she was a child.”

In fact, Bethenny is such a great skater she roller-bladed around New York as a child as a means of transportation.

Frankel has also been seen roller-skating and roller-blading in the streets of Manhattan on RHONYC, so her claim that she can barely skate isn’t credible.

Shortly after ABC announced she would be competing on Skating With the Stars, Bethenny told reporters she was a novice at skating.

“I used to go to Rockefeller Center as a kid and I used to roller skate but nothing like this,” Frankel told People magazine.

“People ask me, ‘Why this show and not Dancing with the Stars?’ Dancing is one thing, but to compete on ice skates is such a challenge and when there’s something that’s a big challenge, I’m all for it.”

Bernadette, who called Bethenny a pathological liar who made up stories about her allegedly dysfunctional childhood, says the only reason her daughter is competing on Skating with the Stars is to further her reality tv career and to one-up rival Jill Zarin (who skated in an episode of the Real Housewives of New York).

“As soon as I saw that she was going to be on Skating with the Stars I just knew she had an ulterior motive,” says Bernadette. “It is for fame and the to one up Jill Zarin.

“I’ve watched only three episodes of the show, and in one Jill Zarin was so proud of her skating and even had a party. As soon as I saw Bethenny was skating, I knew she had another reason than just having fun.”

In contrast, rocker Vince Neil, who’s also competing on Skating with the Stars, revealed he has plenty of skating experience.

“I was a figure skater when I was 12,” said Vince, 49. “When they called the people in my office were laughing but I told them, ‘I actually used to skate. I haven’t skated for a long, long time. I like to do things that sound like fun, and this sounds like fun.”
