Gisele Bundchen was gracious in defeat after husband Tom Brady and the New England Patriots lost the Super Bowl. In one of the most touching images, she was photographed comforting the emotional quarterback after the game.
The 37-year-old Brazilian supermodel was spotted at U.S. Bank Stadium, in Minneapolis, sipping win as the Patriots battled it out with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brady, 40, fumbled the ball in the final minutes of the game. The Eagles recovered and held on to win 41 to 33
Gisele logged on to her Instagram account to show her support after the game.
“Congratulations Eagles for winning the Super Bowl, what a game that was! Congratulations Patriots for giving your best and to my love, we are incredibly proud of you because we are able to see every day all the commitment, sacrifice and hard work that you have devoted to become the best in what you do. We love you!”
Although Brady fell short of wining his 6th Super Bowl victory, he did set a new record during the game.
The quarterback now holds the record for the most passing yards ever in both a Super Bowl game and in any post-season game, finishing the contest with 505 yards in the air.
Gisele, who also has five-year-old daughter Vivian with Brady, has joined other NFL wives and expressed concern over the long-term health effects from playing the game.
“As you know, it’s not the most, like, let’s say, un-aggressive sport, right? He has concussions pretty much every [year]. We don’t talk about it, but he does have concussions. I don’t really think it’s a healthy thing for your body to go through, that kind of aggression all the time. That cannot be healthy for you. I’m planning on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we are 100 [years old], I hope. He knows I will always support him. And I want him to be happy.”
As for Tom, he says he’ll be back next year for a try at a record 6th Super Bowl victory, even though he’ll be 41 years old.
