Jennifer Aniston, who is often portrayed as America’s sweetheart, may be a head case. Her marriage to Justin Threoux lasted little more than two years. Eerily the same issues also appear to have wrecked her marriage to Brad Pitt. What gives?

The couple sent shockwaves through Hollywood after a rep confirmed that she and Theroux had separated at the end of last year.

“Jennifer and Justin fell in love hard and fast and yet they were never really suited to one another.” a source close to the couple told E! News.

And the reason appears to be the same. Jen is so reclusive she may be suffering from a psychological ailment known as agoraphobia.

The word is a fancy term for people who suffer from an anxiety disorder that prevents them from going out in public for fear of feeling trapped, helpless or embarrassed, according to medical references.

Aniston likes to stay home and rarely goes out. Justin on the other hand is very sociable.

He is a New York hipster who loves going out and meeting people. Jennifer preferred a much more reclusive life in exclusive neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

Their differences finally tore them apart.

The underlying cause of Aniston’s split from Pitt, at least according to the actor, was the same. The were married from 2000 to 2005.

The 49-year-old actress once described her relationship with Pitt as “seven very intense years together” and called her marriage “a beautiful, complicated relationship.”

Pitt, on the other hand, described the five-year marriage as one of the most terrible periods in his life. Aniston’s reclusiveness take over his life and ultimately felt suffocated by the marriage He called it “pathetic.”

“I spent the ’90s trying to hide out,” he told Parade magazine.

“I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was so intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it: trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”

If Justin every talks about his marriage, he’s likely to say the same thing.
