Christina Aguilera wants a second act in her career and her life. She opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about both in an interview that will air today. It follows a stop on the “Tonight Show” and comes ahead of a guest appearance on “Dancing With the Stars.”
Aguilera is making the rounds, promoting her movie, “Burlesque” which co-stars Cher, hoping for a better reception than the disappointing showing by her newly released album Bionic.
Christina filed for divorce last monght from her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman. They are seeking joint custody of their two-year-old son, Max.
“My focus first and foremost is my son Max,” she told Ellen. “More power to single moms and those out there doing it,” she said.
“I was raised by a single mom. But you know what, at the end of the day….He’s the love of my life.”
Christina also talked about her upcoming 30th birthday, Dec 18.
“It’s better than turning 20, I’ll tell you that,” she said.
“You’re more comfortable in your own skin as a woman. You have a better idea of what you want and how to get it.
At this time in my life, it’s a huge turning point, it’s a transitional stage and I’m ready. I’m ready,” she said.

Aguliera appeared on Jay Leno show, Nov. 17, where she belted out “Bound to You” from her album. And, she heats up the December issue of InStyle’s UK edition with some ultra-sexy photos.
Dressed in a leopard print dress and black leather jacket, the Burlesque star, 29, tosses her signature platinum blonde hair and turns up the “come hither’ looks in the black-and-white spread.
She will also make a guest appearance on the season finale of “Dancing With The Stars” on Monday (Nov. 22).
She launched her comeback earlier this year with her album Bionic. But despite her dynamic stage presence and soaring vocals, the album has sold poorly.
“Bionic,” debuted in June to mixed reviews and sold only 110,000 copies in its first week of release.
That must have been hard to swallow for a singer who has sold more than 16 million albums and won five Grammy awards.
But now her career is on the line. “Burlesque” opens in theaters Nov. 24. It could be her swan song, or the beginning of a great second act for a talented singer.
