Mark Zuckerberg Debuts New Facebook on 60 Minutes (watch!)

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a redesigned Facebook profile page on CBS’s 60 Minutes news show Sunday (Dec. 5) and sat for an extremely annoying interview with Leslie Stahl.

Zuckerberg, 26, is so smarmy its hard to resist wanting to beat him up and take his lunch money. Except he’s worth billions of dollars now and is one of the few people on earth who poses a credible threat to Google.

The Facebook founder gets royal treatment on the television news magazine show and gets tons of free publicity for the rollout of social networking site’s new look.

Here are some of the changes, according to TechCrunch.

Because Facebook users have posted billions of photos on their pages, the brainiacs at Facebook finally figured out that photos should get more visibility on home profile pages.

So a recently tagged photos now appear at the top of the pages.

There’s also a field on your page called “philosophy,” which folds in your religious and political views, favorite quote, etc.

Perfect for when the Sarah Palinites seize power and start hunting down the wrong-thinkers among us.

Plus there’s a brand new field: “People Who Inspire You.” Might be wise to put Sarah Palin in there just to be safe.

Your personal data is in an easy to find list, like a dating Web site.

Hey! Isn’t that what the Winki twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss claim the enlisted Zuckerberg’s help to create waaay back in 2004 when they were students at Harvard?

The Winklevoss boys claim Zuckerberg stole the idea for Facebook from them, and they have been suing in court ever since.

Which brings up the one area that seemed to make Zuckerberg squrim. Those pesky questions about invasions of privacy and whether, or how, Facebook intends to commercialize the info it collects.
