Brad Pitt John Lennon Movie Reports Untrue, Rep Says 1Brad Pitt is reportedly in talks to play John Lennon in a bio-pic of the late singer,  according to a number of gossip blogs, including PerezHilton, but a rep for the actor says there is no truth to the report.

Pitt was also reportedly interested in producing the feature, supposedly had met with Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, but the rep, who is in a position to know, told TheImproper there has been no meeting with Ono.

More than 30 Web sites have reported the rumor today (Jan 7) which was attributed to the U.K.’s Daily Express newspaper. But the paper is has been wildly inaccurate before. It reported in 2007 that Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie would be marrying.

The reports claim that Pitt was already working on a script and that Yoko had given her blessing so long as the film was true to John’s life.

What’s more, it claimed that Brad wants to do all the singing himself and plans to take voice lessons.

Not only that, but he also has been “immersing” himself in videos and books of the former Beatle to get Lennon’s mannerisms “down pat.”

As intriguing as the prospect sounds, Pitt playing Lennon is ludicrous on its face.

Pitt doesn’t come close to resembling the iconic singer in looks or in physical appearance.

It’s also hard to believe Yoko would sign off a a movie about Lennon, especially by a signature star like Pitt, without demanding some sort of artistic control, or script approval.

Ono has done her best to preserve an idealized view of Lennon, and a realistic portrayal of the singer probably would cause friction with her.

Lennon was gunned down in 1980 at the age of 40,  by a deranged fan, who stalked him outside Lennon’s New York City apartment building.
