Kim Kardashian may have a career, but she desperately wants a talent. To that end, she debuted her new single, a throbbing dance tune, on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today (Mar. 3). It’s beat heavy with oversimplified lyrics, but just may catch on in clubs.
The song, “Jam (Turn It Up),” described as loopy and Auto-Tuned (ouch) by MTV, was produced by The-Dream. Never one to pass up a tie-in, the song will be featured on her show “Kourtney & Kim Take New York” on Sunday.
“It’s a fun dance song,” Kim told Seacrest. “We played it in Tao in Vegas and the whole crowd was singing along in the end.”
Sister Kourtney Kardashian joined Seacrest in the studio to support her obviously nervous sibling.
“[The-Dream said] let’s just have fun. Let’s donate the proceeds, let’s just have fun with it don’t take yourself seriously, try something you’ve never done before,” she explained.
Kim will be shown recording the song in studio on “Kourtney & Kim Take New York.”
The experience she said, was nerve racking. “First, give me a drink!” she recounted saying. “I walked out at one point…cause I was scared!”
Suffice to say club goers are also likely to be trashed when the tune gets spins, so the simplistic lyrics probably won’t matter to them.
Here’s a sample:
“And they playin’ my jam
They playin’ my jam
Turn it up, turn it up (DJ)
Turn it up, so I can rock the night away (away).”
She then goes on to sing a verse that only she and, maybe, Paris Hilton can relate to:
“I’mma burn it out tonight, it’s goin’ down
By live via satellite
And all I see is angels in my eyes
Buzz got me way up in the sky
Maybach in the front (the front)
Pick out any boy that I want (I want)
DJ here I am
Feeling good, feeling great, just got paid.”
Anyway, it is just good fun. And the proceeds will go to charity. So there.
Give it a listen below. And dance!
