Cristiano Ronaldo Out For 2 Weeks With Hamstring Injury 1

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be out of action for 10-15 days after injuring his hamstring during Madrid’s 7-0 win against Malaga on March 3, 2011.

After scoring three goals, Ronaldo, 26, limped off the field  at the 77th minute. According to the Real Madrid website, Cristiano suffered a “Grade 1 muscle injury on the left biceps femoris muscle (hamstring)….and will miss 10-15 days.”

Ronaldo, who recently celebrated his 26th birthday by scoring 2 goals in Madrid’s win against Real Sociedad, is the top scorer in La Liga, with 28 goals, or 43% of Real Madrid’s total goals this season.

The Portuguese international winger recently said he would love for his son Cristiano Jr. to be a superstar athlete just like him.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has remained mum on European tabloid speculation that his girlfriend, Russian supermodel Irina Shayk is pregnant.

But the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl refuted the pregnancy claims by showing off her flat abs at an NYC film screening on March 2.

In June 2009, Cristiano made international headlines when Manchester United agreed to sell him to Real Madrid for a stunning $131 million transfer fee, making him the most expensive player in European football history.

At 6’1″ and 182 lbs., Cristiano is one of the leanest, fastest and fittest athletes to grace the world stage. Despite all his success, Ronaldo has no intention of resting on his laurels. “I want to get better and better,” he has said. “My ambition is huge.”

Ronaldo hopes to return to the pitch March 19.
