Sarah Palin Claws Kathy Griffin Over Family Jokes (watch!) 1Sarah Palin has a message for Kathy Griffin: “Come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone.” It was the latest salvo in a running battle between the Palins and Griffin, who has made the family fodder for her comedy routines.

The latest incident to set off Palin is Griffin’s upcoming “Glee” performance. She’ll play a tea party type modeled on Palin.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro asked Palin about it in an interview over the weekend.

Palin couldn’t hold back in her response. She called Griffin a “50-year-old bully” and a “has-been comedian.”

“You know, Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say anything about me, because you know, she’s kind of this – she’s a 50-year-old adult bully is really what she is,” Palin said.

“She’s kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children,” she said.

“As she had stated on CNN that her New Year’s resolution was to destroy my 16-year-old daughter, that takes it a little too far.”
The problem is Palin hasn’t hesitated to parade out her children in public when it suits her political purpose.

Daughter Bristol, who became an unwed teen mother, has become a lightning rod for advocating abstinence and suggesting she may enter politics.

That makes her fair game for comedians.

In February, Bristol called Hollywood celebrities like Griffin and Kate Walsh on the carpet for “bullying” her. Bristol apparently doesn’t like being the butt of jokes

Last december, Griffin joked that Bristol was the only contestant in the history of “Dancing With the Stars” to gain weight while competing on the grueling dance show.

“Come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week. I swear to God, it was fantastic. She’s like the white Precious.”
