Natalie Portman is engulfed in a new controversy over the use of body double in her new film “Your Highness.” It raises new questions in the scandal over her use of a body double in her Oscar winning role in “Black Swan.”
In the latest row, Portman reportedly refused to perform a key scene in her new rom-com, “Your Highness,” in which she strips down to a thong bikini and dives into an Irish lake.
Portman is filmed standing beside the pool in the scanty garb, but she is not the person diving into the icy lake water outside Belfast, Ireland.
An Irish film student, identified as Caroline Davis, was paid about $400 to step in and take the plunge into the lake, according to London’s Daily Mail.

The use of body doubles and stunt doubles is well known and routine in Hollywood.
Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson used a stunt double for some of the fight scenes in the vampire movie.
But Portman’s hard work and physical sacrifice were supposed to be one of the cornerstones of her performance in “Black Swan.”
The scandal erupted when her “Black Swan” dance double, Sarah Lane, claims Portman performed hardly any of the full body shots seen in the film.
In contrast, film producers, Fox Searchlight, and Portman boyfriend Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the movie, claimed she did 85 percent of the scenes.
Lane most recently appeared on ABC’s “20/20” and told co-host Elizabeth Vargas that the film’s producers are lying about Portman’s dancing in the film.
“I’ve been doing this for 22 years, and to say that someone trained for a year and a half and did what I did is degrading not only to me but to the entire ballet world,” she said.
The latest episode raises a question how much “sacrifice” Portman is really willing to endure if she wouldn’t even take a quick dive into the icy lake for the sake of her art.
“I’m a film studies student so I jumped at the chance to be on set,” Davis told London’s Sun newspaper.
The lake scene has been featured in every one of the movie’s promotional trailers, and caused controversy of its own because Portman briefly exposes her backside.
Now, it’s questionable whether that is even her body or Davis’s with Portman’s head super-imposed on it.
