Lady Gaga stole “Saturday Night Live” from host Justin Timberlake. Given Timberlake’s talent and outsized ego, that’s no small thing. The two were hilarious in skits, but Gaga was amazing. Here’s why.
Timberlake is known for his sense of humor and comedic skills, but Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotti, proved to have amazing comedic timing as well. And acting’s not her thing.
Gaga, of course, blew away viewers with her musical performances, but she showed last night that she also could have a career in films. Lucille Ball must be smiling from heaven.
She killed when she joined Timberlake in a skit, “Bring It on Down…” Timberlake dressed up as a bottle of beer to promote a local business.
In previous appearances, he’s dressed as an omelet and a breast implant, so he’s got the skit down. Gaga joined him as a bottle of wine in a costume every bit as eccentric as her stage outfits.
What’s more, she didn’t miss a beat, as she and Timberlake faced off in a promo contest with Kristen Wiig, who was dressed as a tea bag.
The two pop singers sang a medley of B.o.B’s “Airplanes,” Flo Rida’s “Low” and “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. Except, the lyrics were cleverly changed to promote the store.
Gaga also appeared with Andy Samberg and Justin in a new digital short entitled “3-Way,” based on Timberlake’s and Samberg’s previous short, “Motherlover.”
The affected duo trying to convince themselves they aren’t gay as long as they have a sexual encounter together with a woman — in this case Gaga — in the middle in a menage a trois.
“It’s not gay when it’s in a three-way,” Timberlake and Samberg sing, with Gaga on backing vocals. “With a honey in the middle and some lee-way. The area is gray in a three-way.”
