Angelina Jolie’s Vuitton Cambodia Sojourn in Video (watch!)

Angelina Jolie's Vuitton Cambodia Sojourn in Video (watch!) 1Angelina Jolie is captured in a new video by Louis Vuitton, strolling through a tropical rainforest in Cambodia in sort of a surreal homage to the environment.

Vuitton released a photo of Jolie in Cambodia earlier this month as part of its “Core Values” campaign. It’s her first for the brand and it carries a clear political message.

She doesn’t promote a particular product. Even the clothes she’s wearing, which looked based on simple peasant garb in neutral earth tones, are her own.

Instead the campaign is designed to send a message about the quality of the brand.

Jolie poses barefoot, wearing her own clothes and little or no makeup aboard a traditional wooden boat in Cambodia’s Siem Reap province.

The 36-second spot shows her strolling through the forest, while the sound of chimes and children’s voices echo in the background.

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz was behind the lens, and four of six Jolie children reportedly accompanied her to Southeast Asia.

The photo and video feature the natural beauty of Cambodia and Southeast Asia and suggests an environmental theme.

“People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation,” Vuitton’s executive vice president Pietro Beccari told WWD magazine. “I like the fact that it’s a real moment.”

She also carries her well-worn monogrammed Vuitton Alto bag, (sorry, no longer available), which, frankly, looks out of place.

Angelina and partner Brad Pitt have adopted one of their children, Maddox, 9, from Cambodia.

Jolie has also done work there in her role as a United Nations goodwill ambassador on behalf of refugees.

She and Brad have also established a foundation in the country in their son’s name.

Jolie was likely convinced to do the ad campaign by those who preceded her.

They include U2 frontman Bono,, moon-traveling astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell, Shuttle astronaut Sally Ride and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson have been previous faces of the brand in other capacities.

Jolie donated a portion of her fee, which Vuitton refused to disclose, to charity.
