Beyonce trades raunchy, barely-there outfits for soft feminine lingerie in her new video for “The Best Thing I Never Had,” the second single off her new album 4.

But the lyrics are a mix of sweetness and spice as Beyonce sings about love and revenge after a bitter break up.

The visuals are a sharp departure from her “(Girls) Run The World” video which featured the singer in a militant garb set against a post-apocalyptic world.

The “Single Ladies” singer has also released a series of photos over the past few weeks that delve into BDSM and strong sexuality to promote her new album.

Beyonce even goes topless with her intimate parts barely shielded by her hair and a furry boa. She spreads her legs while posing in stirrups at the end of long ropes, clad in fetish attire.

But these may be the sexist photos yet.

Beyonce is a boudoir beauty in body-hugging white lace body suit, tiny lace panties and white lace garters and hose.

Incidentally the video is apparently directed at an unnamed man who spurned her at the beginning of her career in the 1990s.

The message is you could have had this and blew it. And, she gets a little nasty about it.

There was a time

I thought, that you did everything right

No lies, no wrong

Boy I, must’ve been outta my mind

So when I think of the time that I almost loved you

You showed your ass and I saw the real you

Thank God you blew it

Thank God I dodged the bullet

I’m so over you

So baby good lookin’ out

Beyonce said the album marked a shift in her style and reflected broad influence from various artists.

But it sparked some rumblings when it got off to a slow start and lacked an obvious smash hit. Beyonce also opted for a more overtly sexual, even raunchy image to promote the album.

But the album has been building momentum and finally hit No. 1 on the pop charts.

Still, it’s the lowest selling of her four studio albums. Check out the video below.
