Russell Armstrong, the husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Taylor Armstrong, may have committed suicide because of tortured financial and sexual secrets that he thought were about to become public.

Armstrong, 47, reportedly was bi-sexual and may have suspected taht his estranged wife had found out about his affairs with men, according to gossip site radaronline.

The Armstrongs had been living their lives virtually in public ever since Taylor became a member of the cast of Bravo’s reality television show.

The public airing of the family’s dirty laundry on television must have upped the pressure of the marital split.

Russell complained about the stress the television show was causing. “This show has literally pushed us to the limit,” he said in an interview earlier this year.

Taylor Armstrong recently went public with serious allegations of marital abuse and filed for divorce.

His ex-wife and an ex-girlfriend had also filed restraining orders against him.

But Russell Taylor’s problems apparently went deeper than that.

“About six months ago Taylor confided in a close friend that she’d found history for a gay website called on Russell’s laptop,” a source told radar.

“He was also spending a lot of time at the gym, but his body wasn’t changing, which she claims led her to believe he was meeting with men he’d met off the Web site and not spending time working out as he claimed.”

Russell, who worked in finance during the boom, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2005, claiming he had less than $50,000 in assets and up to $10 million in debts.

He was reportedly being sued for diverting as much as $2 million from the hedge fund where he worked to pay personal expenses.

His ex-wife blameed the reality housewife for Russell’s apparent suicide.

“I don’t care for her at all. I think she’s the reason for this,” Barbara Frederickson, who has a son with Russell, told radar.

“She’s not who she says she is and I told him to please be careful with this woman… I warned him! She’s bad news and she drove him into this.

“I think she [Taylor] drove him into financial stress and it just ruined him,” Frederickson added.

Russell had been staying at a friend’s house on Mulholland Drive in L.A. where he was found hanged in his bedroom Monday (Aug. 15) evening.
