Anne Hathaway Darkly Sexual in Interview Magazine (photos) 1Anne Hathaway channels the darkly sexual in a positively funereal photo spread in Interview magazine and talks about her high brow — and low brow — obsessions with Prince William and the Princesses of “Jersey Shore.”

Hathaway, 28, may wear Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford belt, Maison Michel, Bottega Veneta and Nina Ricci in the photo shoot, but she sees a lot of herself in Jersey girl Snooki.

“When I saw Snooki, I saw my twin. I couldn’t lose myself in the show anymore because there I was… That being said, I think JWoww is amazing. I love JWoww. She’s intense. See, JWoww to me is proper Jersey because she will scrap for a friend.”

Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, NY, but grew up in Millburn, New Jersey, so she knows the type, although the Jersey Shore kids are now quite how she remembered the shore.

“When I first saw the show, I thought, Wow, they are having a very different experience there than my experience in Cape May.

“I thought the first season of the show was awesome because it was authentic, but I don’t watch it any more because now they know that there’s a camera there.

“The Situation is totally self-aware. He’s referring to himself as The Situation non-stop. In the episode I saw, his car got towed, and he was like, ‘We’ve got a situation here, and The Situation is the situation'” she said.

Right now, she says, she’s obsessing on the royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middelton.

“I loved the Royal Wedding,” she says. “I was so cynical going into it, and pseudo-political about the whole thing, but as soon as I saw her I was utterly charmed.

“I’m just completely enchanted by Kate and William. With everything she’s doing right now, I say, ‘Yay, Kate.'”

After a horrible experience with long-time boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, an Italian real estate developer who is in prison on fraud charges, Anne says she has come full circle.

“I just went through a phase where I wanted to look at it from every angle to make sure that I wasn’t just falling in step with some kind of prescribed fantasy,” she says.

But she came to the conclusion that marriage is possible in the future. “Weddings are important because they celebrate life and possibility”, the actress says.

Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were behind the lens for the shoot. Check out Anne’s photos. For more from Anne, check out Interview magazine.
