Veteran actress Christina Ricci gives a big thumbs up to “Twilight” hunk Robert Pattinson’s acting in “Bel Ami,” and that’s saying a lot coming from the child star who has matured into an A-list actress.
Ricci, 31, will make her latest appearance as a rebellious flight attendant in ABC’s new series, “Pan Am,” another 1960s throwback drama akin to the hit show “Mad Men.”
She crossed paths with Pattinson in film adaptation of 19th century writer Guy de Maupassant’s scandalously, decadent take on French society.

The film, which also co-stars Uma Thurman, and Kristin Scott Thomas, features Rob as Georges Duroy, a penniless soldier who finds his way to Paris.
He’s determined to carve out a place in French society by seducing the wives of powerful men at the center of Parisian society.
Ricci plays one of Rob’s lovers. “He’s great; he’s really an awesome guy,” she tells Modern Luxury magazine. “I had a lot of fun working with him.”
Despite having legions of teen fans who would likely do anything for him, Pattinson was down to earth with a solid work ethic on set, he says.
“He’s so professional,” she explains. “He comes to set with no expectations or attitude. None of those things you worry someone of his level of fame is going to have.”
Thurman, who plays another of Rob’s Bel Ami lovers, also praised his performance: “He’s incredibly concrete in his presence on the set and obviously very handsome,” she told MTV.
“He’s a very nice person and he’s sensitive,” she added. “He’s present. He’s a really good actor.”
Off-set, Rob appears to be behaving like a real gentleman as well.
He was spotted at West Hollywood hotspot Soho House Aug. 29 with a group of male buddies, and Rob kept it low key.
He stuck with his pals and avoided female fans. Girlfriend Kristen Stewart is in England shooting her new film, “Snow White and the Huntsman.”
