Kate Gosselin fired back at ex-husand Jon Gosselin on the Today show this morning, igniting another war of words over his suggestion that she get a real life, and give up on her reality life.

“It’s a situation where Jon may be accepting of mediocre for his kids by working a regular job,” she said.

“But I want the best for my kids and to give them the best opportunity,” she told Matt Lauer.

Matt noted that Kate had the opportunity to get back to a “normal” life. “Living in front of cameras is not a normal life.”

Kate said she’s feeling very anxious about raising her family after six years in front of the camera.

“There’s a combination of sadness and fear,” she said.

“There’s some sadness because it’s the end of an era. The kids are questioning whats going to happen,” she said.

Kate said she is still open to another reality television show, and would throw the kids in the mix as well.

“It would have to be the right [show], but the best opportunity would be me continuing in TV for my kids,” she said.

“If the right thing came along, I’m sure you will see my kids at some point.”

The drama that caused the tabloid fodder played a role in her divorce, she said. Much of the drama, she added, was made up.

Kate was also asked about her meltdown on last week’s episode, which featured an RV trip to the Grand Canyon.

She said she’s apologized to her nanny and friend Jamie, and said the trip involved a lot more stress than even the cameras showed.
