Beyoncé puts on another energetic performance in her new video for her song, “Love on Top.” She electrified the audience with it at the MTV Video Music Awards. Let’s hope the dance moves are original, this time.
Well actually they aren’t.
Beyoncé reprises ’80s boy band New Edition’s “If It Isn’t Love” video in both choreography and stage setting. Everything is lifted as if it were 1988 all over again.
But, this time, Beyoncé seems to be having fun with it.
Beyoncé released a remarkable video for her song “Countdown,” but it quickly became mired in controversy over the choreography.
The similarities between an earlier work by Belgian contemporary choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Beyoncé’s “Countdown” video are too striking to ignore.
Beyonce’s latest video opens with another sharp dance scene. She’s in a studio with five other dancers.
She’s wearing a black body suit with black hose and puts on a serious display of footwork before breaking into the song.
The former Destiny’s Child singer is pregnant, but in the video, shot earlier, her baby bump doesn’t seem pronounced. But she’s majorly curvy.
The video cuts to another scene where Beyoncé is wearing a gold jacket with black lapels, but nothing underneath.
She jumps into three more suits all with sexy plunging necklines during the song.
Her baby bump is more pronounced in her “Countdown” video. Yet, being pregnant has slowed her down in either video.
