Mariah Yeater First Look Television Interview (Watch) 1Mariah Yeater, the 20-year-old California woman who has accused Justin Bieber of fathering her child, comes across as a poised and articulate person in her first television interview since the scandal broke.

Yeater has been a mystery since the revelations about her paternity suit were first reported by tabloid gossip sheet Star magazine.

A recent series of photos on her MySpace page showed her to be far more free spirited than she was initially portrayed by a photo in Star.

But in her first television interview on The Insider, Yeater is dressed demurely and is articulate and sincere sounding in her limited comments about the case.

It’s the first real look at Yeater, whose stability was called into question because of her alleged assault on ex-boyfriend John Terranova in Las Vegas.

She claimed, at the time, he was the father of her child, but also talked about a mysterious lover she would only call “Steve.”

She said in a sworn affidavit that Bieber was the only person who could be the baby’s father.

The boy’s grandmother Frances Lippe told gossip site that Terranova heatedly denied fathering the child.

In the ensuing argument, Yeater slapped him in the face three times and broke out the window in a car own by Terranova’s current girlfriend. She is facing charges in the case.

With that as a backdrop, Yeater emerged on camera wearing a feminine pink sweater and white blouse with minimal makeup and none of the piercings she wore in photographs.

She said clearly, without blinking an eye that Bieber went from “cute and gushy to aggressive” after he led her to a backstage bathroom where they had sex.

“There are people watching who are not going to believe what you are saying,” The Insider’s Kevin Frazier told her bluntly.

With that Yeater came close to tears. She said she had provided evidence to her attorneys “and it will show in court… to prove that my allegations are true.”

She declined to reveal what the evidence is.

Her comments come after Bieber specifically denied the allegations in a televised interview on NBC’s Today Show.

“I’d just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true. I know I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim,” Bieber told Matt Lauer.

“It’s crazy, every night after the show I’ve gone right from the stage right to my car, so it’s crazy some people want to make up such false allegations.

“But to set the record straight, none of it is true. Never met the woman,” he said.

Obviously, they can’t both be right.
