Kim Kardashian has something in common with Kate Middleton. Both have been picked as paragons of manners, but at opposite ends of the good/bad manners spectrum. Guess who landed where.
The National League of Junior Cotillions has tut-tutted Kim for her exceptionally bad manners, naming her “The Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2011.”
This appears to be the first time the group has singled out someone for bad manners since it began compiling the lists in 1992.
Kardashian earned the title for “making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage,” the organization said.
Kim has been sharply criticized for allegedly staging her marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries to cash in on a wedding extravaganza. She divorced husband 72 days later on Halloween.
Cotillion students and directors nationwide nominated individuals and the honorees were chosen based on a “demonstration of dignity, honor and respect,” or lack thereof, according to NLJC national director Elizabeth Anne Winteres.
The Duchess of Cambridge received the top the honor based on the “poise and dignity with which she conducts herself in the public spotlight.”
She married Prince William in April and has set an example of grace and dignity in action, lifting the Royal family a notch or two along the way.
The top ten list of best mannered people also included Justin Bieber, who apparently dodged a bullet over his alleged baby mama scandal.
American Idol judge Paula Abdul, country singer Taylor Swift and NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers also made the best mannered list.
Miley Cyrus topped the list in 2007 for being a “positive role model for young people” on her show “Hannah Montana.”
