Kendall Jenner may be the only redeeming person in the train wreck that the Kardashian family has become since their reality shows warped their sensibilities and blinded them to greed.

Showing wisdom beyond her years, Kendall, 16, adamantly refused to allow mother Kris Jenner to throw her a lavish Sweet 16 party in the Bahamas.

Momager Kris undoubtedly had her eye on more product endorsements and eye-popping footage for the family reality show.

But in the wake of half-sister Kim Kardashian’s fiasco of a marriage and the garish exploitation of her $18 million wedding, Kendall had the fortitude to tell her mother no.

Instead, she said she wanted a more intimate event at home and wanted her guests to donate toys to charity instead of bringing her gifts.

Whether the scene on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” was scripted or reflected Kendall’s true feeling may be subject to debate. But Kendall was a refreshing breath of humility.

After half-sis Kourtney tipped her off to her mother’s plans for a spectacle, the teenager call out her mother.

“Mom, I’m not going to do it! Do you not understand? You’re trying to make this bigger and bigger and it’s embarrassing me,” she said.

“You’re just giving me this, you’re just handing me this and I don’t want it,” Kendall said.

The trip to the Bahamas would have included 75 of her closest friends.

“For my mom to be like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have this huge extravagant party,’ and to think those kids can’t even go to a party because they’re sitting in a hospital bed, it’s just really sad,” said Kendall.

What a relief. Someone in that family is still capable of being embarrassed.
