Kris Humphries’ marriage to Kim Kardashian may be a total wreck, but he just scored an $8 million slam dunk on the basketball court, with a new one-year contract with the New Jersey Nets.

Kim’s sister Khloe Kardashian¬†questioned whether Humphries, 26, married his sister for her money. But he won’t be going broke anytime soon.

The 6’9″ power forward, who turned free-agent after playing with the Nets last season and wanted $10 million a year and a long-term contract.

Kris’ athletic career has been overshadowed by his whirlwind 72-day marriage to reality tv star, but he had his best NBA season last year, scoring a double-double, averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds a game.

But the contract will give Kris the opportunity to refocus attention on his basketball prowess and show he’s still a franchise player.

Kris recently told “Good Morning America” he wanted to focus on his basketball career and put his ill-fated marriage behind him.

“I’m just focused on family and preparing for basketball,” he said. “Certain things happen in life and you’ve got to move forward. I’m excited to be where I’m at right now, with the NBA season coming up.”

While many reality show story lines are staged, Kim’s tv show, “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” recently shed some light on the tensions brewing inside the newlywed’s home in the weeks preceding their split.
