Jay-Z and Beyoncé baby girl Blue Ivy is being serenaded into the world with a rap by daddy called “Glory,” feat B.I.C. He released the song today (Jan. 9) to mark the her birth.
Wife Beyonce gave birth Saturday in Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, sparking instant speculation on the origin of the baby’s name.
Blue is reportedly one of Jay-Z’s favorite colors, and “Ivy” may represent the Roman numeral IV, which is couple’s lucky number.
The rapper revealed in the new song that Beyonce suffered a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with their daughter.
The revelation is contained in the lyrics of the song, posted on his social Web site Lifeandtimes.
Jay-Z, 42, raps in the song, a slow balad:
“Last time the miscarriage was so tragic
We was afraid you’d disappear
But nah baby you magic.”
A baby can be heard crying at the end of the song.
Beyonce announced her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards. The birth while widely celebrated, was also not without controversy.
Beyonce Security Guards Strong-Arm Patients
Some family members of patients in the hospital complained about being strong-armed by the couple’s security guards.
The superstar couple reportedly spent$1.3 million to renovated an exclusive recovery area, including a bulletproof door to her room, and sealing off the entire wing of the hospital.
Some parents said they were prevented from seeing their newborns during her time giving birth.
“They just used the hospital like it was their own and nobody else mattered,”Neil Coulon told reporters. He said he was blocked at least four times from seeing his newborn twins.
“They locked us into the NICU and would say, ‘You can’t come out to the hallway for the next 20 minutes.’ When I finally was able to go back out, I went to the waiting room and they’d ushered my family downstairs!” he said.
