Kristen Stewart will have a big year in 2012…on screen. Otherwise, the Twilight star says she plans to kick back and take some time off from her hectic schedule. Well, not totally. She just signed on to rep for Balenciaga.

“My horizon is clear as of now, except for this in terms of new projects, which feels incredible,” she said. “I have finished three films I can’t wait to see come to fruition this year, ‘On The Road,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ and ‘Breaking Dawn 2.’”

Kristen and boyfriend Robert Pattinson are both expected to take some time off from their crazy schedules, which will involve promotional duties for their various films. Rob’s latest picture “Bel Ami,” is expected to be released this year.

Stewart has come into her own since starring in the “Twilight” series in 2008. She’s not only grown into a woman during that time, she’s established herself as an A-list actress and shown in a series of photo shoots that her glamour quotient is high.

Balenciaga is her first big fashion gig. She’ll be the face of their newest fragrance for women. The as yet to-be-announced scent will launched this fall, according to fashion magazine WWD. She joins Charlotte Gainsbourg who reps for Balenciaga Paris.

“Balenciaga has always stood out to me,” Stewart told WWD. “Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga.”

“It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière also had high praise for Stewart, despite her new found association with fashion and glamour. “Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” he said in a statement. “From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys,’ I’ve always sensed her progressive character.

“In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga,” he added.
